A Poem.

Our grandpa came over.
It was fun.
We bought crabs
I am done

Fire

Our boys love fire! They are experts at starting fires!! Well, they are experts at making a proper fire( from all of the Boys Scout training.) Inch built a fire pit out of things he found around the back yard/woods. He gathers the rocks all the way at the bottom of the hill. He did a great job and we've enjoyed it quite a bit.

Field Trip with our cousins

We are still here, yes, we haven't blogged in a while, but we've been having fun. Week before last we were able to spend some time with Cruzan Dad's sis and kids. We went on a field trip to the American History Museum.

The bathroom makover Pt II

Well It has taken a long time but the bathroom is almost done. With a little help from a friend who has much more home repair experience I was able to finish the floors, install the sink and most importantly..... install the new toilet. You would not believe how hard it is for 6 people to share ONE bathroom!!!

Well it's not 100% perfect but not to shabby for a first try!!

Now I have to still:
Install medicine cabinet
put up shower curtain and rod
put up the toilet paper holder and towel rack
caulk
put in the baseboards
change the light fixture
and paint

..........OK so maybe the term "almost done" is relative :-)

The Little Helper

Every time Dad is doing work around the house G-MAC feels the need to help him out. Well when he was tiling the bathroom it was no different.

We knew when we bought our house that we were going to need to redo the bathroom.
The first step was easy... DESTRUCTION gutting the bathroom and stripping the tiles to the bare floor

We all thought that the bit of original wallpaper behind the toilet was "interesting"

Halloween 2009

OK so I know that it is a few days late but here are the kids in their Halloween costumes.
Even though the teenagers didn't trick-or-treat they still enjoyed dressing up.

Old Friends

For the last 16 years we have moved about once every 2-4 years. It's been fun and we have made many friends along the way. A few of those friends we really connected with and have kept in touch with for many years. Email and phone calls are usually the norm. This week we were blessed enough to get a visit from our really good friends that we met when we lived in Turkey. They are also the Godparents of Mystical Rose and Godmother to GMAC. We had such a wonderful time, we miss them already.
